The
wholes we have in mind
Emotional
Intelligence is now part of the whole
I understand the "me Too" movement and sexual mis-conduct are big topics in 2018. Behind or below the tip of this iceberg are the bigger ideas of "Emotional Intelligence" and 'interpersonal competency.'
Since
about 1995 any-every Progressive org benefits by including these in
the "wholes we have in mind."
Emotional Intelligence or "EQ," incorporating 'interpersonal competency' (which takes us beyond where Daniel Goleman's books left off), have both Outer Game and Inner Game aspects.
Outer Game of EQ
Can you improve on this:
When two or more waking persons wish to work together as teammates, it benefits both to mindfully practice specific methods to avoid and moderate interpersonal conflict, as best they can, towards"peace is present."
Inner Game of EQ
Can you improve on this:
Our
Inner Game of Life works best when we can move flexibly back and
forth between our Thinking~Feeling functions. When both functions
are mindful and can work as teammates, we call this inner cooperation
and self-connection.
Additionally:
The most workable deliberate choices-decisions emerge from cooperation-collaboration between our Thinking and Feeling Functions.
Also:
Little therapy, even little self-healing, can occur, unless and until, the individual feels equally safe to perceive both Thoughts and Feelings and rust their perceptions.
Healthy
group process now part of the whole
Towards a definition of healthy group process, here's 47 words:
quote When groups of 12 or more people, Grade Three or older, in the same room, work together, face to face, with specific group-process-formats, exercises, improv and Games Trainers Play, to maximize individual Aha!s, insights on a theme; and, consensus on values--we call this healthy group process.
